WHY SHOULD ASTHMA PATIENTS USE SMART INHALERS?

Why Smart Inhalers?

Smart inhalers are inhalers that integrate connectivity with a mobile app, via Bluetooth, for instance. These devices are built with sensor technology that helps record data about the time and date of use, and the location of the patient at each use.

In order to mitigate the clinical severity of chronic respiratory diseases, patients need to adhere to a strict medication schedule. The dosage and timing are adjusted to achieve control of their symptoms.

Internet connectivity was earlier achieved by wireless (wi-fi) or Bluetooth networks. Now artificial intelligence (AI) is giving rise to new-generation medical devices that deliver smart care.

Benefits of Smart Inhaler

The world’s first smart inhaler to receive approval from the FDA was Teva’s Pro-air Digihaler. This has a use-tracking real-time sensor that syncs it to a mobile app. The sensors may be either an integral part of the inhaler itself or be external devices that are attached to the primary inhaler.

This can be used to set up an automatic reminder for the next dose. These inhalers help remind patients to use them at the right time, and can also alert if they forget to take their devices with them. In addition, the issue of non-compliance could be addressed by these devices.

These records can provide data that predicts asthma attacks, thus allowing the patient to forestall them. This could help reduce the clinical severity and length of each such episode, preventing worsening of lung damage.

The use of smart inhalers allows patients and their doctors to track their condition and monitor the efficacy of treatment in individual patients over time.

The time and location tracking may also help identify trigger factors, share data instantly with the doctor, and accumulate data for research. Some digital inhalers can even track or sense high levels of pollution.

What Are At-Home Microcurrent Devices, and Are They Worth the Investment?

0

Microcurrent devices deliver electrical currents to the skin, claiming to subtly lift and firm the face in as little as five minutes. However, are at-home skincare devices worth the investment? We solicited input from dermatologists and here are the details:

Microcurrent therapy is what it sounds like.

Microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes a low-voltage current comparable to the body’s natural electrical currents. The microcurrent stimulates energy production in the skin, resulting in the formation of collagen and elastin. This can result in firmer, toned skin that appears more “lifted” on the face.

Is microcurrent therapy genuinely effective?

At the moment, there is a lack of evidence to support the lofty claims of younger-looking tighter skin. Unless a patient is young and has minimal skin laxity, to begin with, I typically do not recommend at-home devices to him.

The devices are most effective as a prejuvenation tactic, a term that combines the words “prevention” and “rejuvenation.” Microcurrent technology will undoubtedly never be a substitute for in-office treatments or surgery. If you want to achieve significant toning results, an at-home microcurrent device may not be the best investment.

Having said that, if you are still genuinely interested in preventing skin laxity and rejuvenating slightly sagging skin, microcurrent technology may provide the necessary boost.

What device options do I have?

A dermatologist can prescribe a microcurrent device, or you can purchase an at-home version.

The Benefits of a Nasal Rinse (Nasal Irrigation)

Your ENT may have recently added a nasal rinse to your treatment plan, or maybe your physician has been encouraging nose irrigation for years.  Either way, it’s highly likely you are one of the many people that keep putting off this ‘tortuous’ sounding technique.  The Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists at Allergy and ENT Associates are convinced that once you understand – and then try – the nasal rinse, it will become a valuable part of your daily routine.

How a Nasal Rinse Works:

The sinus cavities can be thought of as very small tunnels within the bones of your face that have many functions, some relate to the movement of air. When your body begins to produce extra mucous while fighting a virus or during an allergic reaction, the sinus cavities can become clogged.  This will result in pressure, pain, and even worse, a full-blown sinus infection.

It is also referred to as a nasal wash or nasal lavage, is designed to clear these clogged sinus pathways.  The nasal rinse, which is comprised of a saltwater solution, will prevent the growth of bacteria in the sinus cavities.  This can significantly decrease symptoms, as well as prevent future sinus infections.

The Benefits of a Nasal Rinse:

  • Wash away the mucous crust, dirt, pollen, and other allergens from your nose
  • Increase the flow of mucous, allowing sinus passages to clear
  • Pull out fluid, shrinking swollen mucous membranes
  • Improve breathing, as swelling resolves
  • Prevent a sinus infection

Tips for Effective Nasal Irrigation:

The Nasal Rinse can be safe and extremely effective, as long as you keep a few things in mind.  First of all, if your ENT has prescribed an antihistamine or steroid nasal spray, be sure to use the nose rinse first.  That way your sinus passages are clear, allowing the nasal spray to be more effective.  Secondly, never use tap water in your nasal rinse, as this can cause a very serious health problem.  Last but not least, remember to wash out your sinus rinse bottle after each use and allow it to air dry.

The problems such as pimples, clogged flaws, make up flaws and whatnot, ask an oily skin person yourself. What caused oily skin? Okay, that isn’t the subject to study on this topic but let me help you. Oily skins are the consequence of unhealthy eating habits and too much sebum. Hey, this doesn’t mean oily skin is bad. HERE ARE SOME TIPS ON HOW TO CONTROL OILY SKIN

0

Oily skin can be caused by various factors, including stress, humidity, genetics, and fluctuating hormone levels. To assist in oil reduction, follow these dermatologist-recommended do’s and don’ts.

Dermatologists’ Ten Do’s and Don’ts

  1. Do wash your face in the morning, evening, and immediately following exercise. Resist the urge to scrub your skin while washing, even to remove makeup. Scrubbing irritates the skin, making it appear worse.
  2. Select skincare products that are oil-free and non-comedogenic. This means that products bearing these labels, such as cleansers, moisturizers, and cosmetics, will not clog your pores or cause acne.
  3. Do wash your face gently with a foaming face wash. Many people believe that to dry out their skin, they must use a strong face wash for oily skin. However, using an overly harsh face wash can irritate the skin and stimulate increased oil production. Rather than that, seek out a mild, gentle face wash.
  4. Avoid oil or alcohol based cleansers. These can irritate the skin.
  5. Use a moisturizer daily. Even if you have oily skin, it is critical to moisturize your skin to keep it hydrated. To save time and protect your skin from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays, look for a moisturizer that includes a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
  6. Use SPF. Sunscreen protects the skin from sun damage which results in wrinkles, age spots, and even skin cancer. To avoid acne breakouts, choose sunscreens that contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and avoid fragrances and oils.
  7. Select oil-free, water-based makeup.
  8. Remember not to sleep in your make-up. Always wash your face thoroughly before going to bed.
  9. Don’t forget to use blotting papers during the day. Gently press the paper against your face and allow it to absorb the oil for a few seconds. Avoid rubbing the paper against your face, as this will spread the oil.
  10. Don’t ever touch your face during the day. While it may be tempting to touch your face, this can result in the transfer of dirt, oil, and bacteria from your hands to your face. Touch your face only when cleansing, moisturizing, applying sunscreen, or applying makeup, and always wash your hands first.

Treat Your Muscles with The Compex SP 8.0 Muscle Stimulator

The Compex SP 8.0 is an electrical muscle stimulator that treats your muscles with electro-stimulation. By placing electrodes on your body with the SP 8.0, you can work on your explosiveness and strength. In addition, you can treat muscle ache effectively or choose a relaxing massage. To find out how this works, I tested it for you.

REVIEW OF COMPEX SP 8.0

  • The Muscle Intelligence technology bases the intensity of programs on your muscle composition.
  • In addition to strength training, you can also use the SP 8.0 for pain treatment, fitness, muscle recovery, and rehabilitation.
  • Because the device works with wireless modules, you don’t need to attach inconvenient cables.
  • You can’t control the SP 8.0 via your smartphone (for safety reasons).

First Impression

Electro-stimulation devices are often associated with Tel Sell commercials. I also think of people supposedly getting a six-pack while sitting at their desk right away. Slightly skeptical, I take the Compex SP 8.0 out of the package. What stands out right away is the slick design of the charging station. The device includes 4 electronic modules, which you can use without inconvenient cables. The remote has a simplistic design with clear buttons. It also includes 3 bags of electrodes. This looks more professional than I thought.

User-Friendliness

After turning on the device, I can get started right away. Operation is simple and intuitive. The use of the round button in the center reminds me of the classic iPod. Treatment programs are logically divided into 5 categories. When I select a program, I see a clear image showing the placement of the electrodes. This way, I can be sure I’m sticking them on correctly.

MI Technology

The Compex SP 8.0 has a wide range of programs. I can choose fitness, endurance, pain treatment, rehabilitation, or recovery massages. Within these categories, I select the body part I want to treat. The Muscle Intelligence technology starts to work.

3 EFFECTIVE METHODS OF APPLYING SUNSCREEN!

Are you fed up with searching for the elusive sunscreen that works? Perhaps you are not applying it correctly. Allow us to demonstrate.

1. Choose the appropriate sunscreen for your skin tone:

Depending on the formulation, some sunscreens can leave a chalky cast on the skin. Those with darker skin tones should opt for micronized formulas with sunscreen components that are imperceptibly small. It prevents that strange, greyish cast but still protects against ultraviolet radiation, and that is what you want. Additionally, because those skin types are more prone to water loss in the top layers of skin, using a formula with a higher moisturizing factor will help keep the formula in place and allow the SPF factor to work.

2. It is critical to maintain order:

After moisturizer and other skin treatments, but before makeup, apply sunscreen. If you are not wearing makeup, sunscreen should be the final product you apply to your skin. Ideally, wait 20-30 minutes after applying the final product to your face or until they are entirely absorbed into your skin before applying sunscreen to ensure that the other products do not interfere with your sunscreen’s ability to form a protective layer on your skin. Avoid combining sunscreen with moisturizer or foundation, as this may compromise the sunscreen’s effectiveness.

3. Allow time for your sunscreen to work:

If you’re using a chemical sunscreen, wait 20-30 minutes after application before going outside to allow the UV filters to penetrate your skin and form a protective layer. You are not required to wait for entirely physical sunscreens. Sunscreens containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are immediately effective upon application. However, because sunscreens are available with chemical and physical UV filters, it is generally recommended to apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before sun exposure.

URGONight EEG Headband Trains Your Brain to Sleep Better

URGONight, by the French company URGOTECH, is a non-invasive, wearable, EEG (electroencephalography) headband. It is designed to train your brain to fall asleep faster with fewer. Wouldn’t it be great if we could train our brains to doze off faster whenever we go to bed? This is what URGONight, “The World’s First Daytime Sleep Training Device” aspires to achieve. interruptions throughout the night.

Also there are a few commonly used techniques that might help induce sleep, such as taking a warm shower before going to bed or using the “4-7-8” breathing method. But you cannot always count on such techniques to work. Therefore, wouldn’t it be great if we could train our brains to doze off faster whenever we go to bed?

Benefits of the URGONight?

URGONight utilizes EEG neurofeedback, a scientifically proven technology. This has already been used by sleep clinics for decades. Studies reported that using EEG neurofeedback could decrease sleep onset latency by up to 40% and night time awakening by up to 53%. URGOTECH, through URGONight, hopes to extend this technology to more people in the comfort of their own homes at an affordable price.

The URGONight headband is equipped with four dry electrodes. Two of the electrodes are placed at the top of the head and two behind the ears. These electrodes are positioned in the ideal locations to detect what is called sensorimotor (SMR) brain waves. Increasing the production of SMR waves during the day corresponds with better quality of sleep. The URGONight app, through a series of exercises, aims to nudge the brain of the user to produce more brain waves. The people behind URGONight believe that users training with URGONight for as little as 60 minutes per week could attain sustainable results after just three months.
