How to Get As Smooth As Butter Skin On Your Nose

0

Admit it! While adhering to a skincare routine religiously, we all have a tendency to overlook certain areas of our face. One of them is the skin on the nose. If you have oily, acne-prone skin, you’ve probably noticed how rough and uneven the skin on your nose is. This is because of a variety of factors, including blackheads, whiteheads, and excessive sebum production. It’s past time, girl, for you to begin paying more attention to the skin on your nose. Here are three critical tips to ensure your nose skin is as smooth as butter.

#01: Exfoliate the skin to create a smooth surface

Scrubbing will aid in the removal of dead skin cells and will result in a smoother surface. While scrubbing, avoid being too harsh. Gently run your fingers along the bridge and sides of your nose to thoroughly cleanse.

#02: Steam your face

Eliminating blackheads and whiteheads is not a simple task. However, here is a tip that will assist you in achieving a smoother nose. This is referred to as steaming! To steam your face, you can either use a steamer or a pan filled with hot water. Steaming aids in the removal of dirt from the skin’s surface. Immediately after steaming, reach for nose peels to rid your nose of blackheads and whiteheads. When your skin is soft and your pores are open, the most benefit from nose peels is obtained.

#03: Reach for facial oils

You might be surprised to learn that including facial oils in your skincare routine can actually help regulate sebum production and balance the pH of your skin, thereby assisting you in banishing oily skin woes and eventually acne.

Learn About The Benefits of CryoPen Cryotherapy For Skin Imperfections

About The Product

CryoPen cryotherapy is a state of the art treatment. It uses extreme cold, or cryotherapy, to painlessly and safely destroy unwanted, benign and superficial lesions on the surface of the skin, such as warts, skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas, scars, and resistant hyperpigmentation.

It has four main benefits over other treatments:

  • CryoPen therapy takes far less time; with treatment sessions lasting less than 2 minutes
  • No anesthesia is required and it is virtually painless
  • It is one of the least invasive lesion treatments in the market
  • It is used in the treatment of virtually any benign skin lesion

CryoPen is designed and developed by a Belgian company, HO Equipment, and distributed in the United Kingdom by Cryosthetics (CryoskinCare Ltd). It is used for treatments in the specialities of dermatology, podiatry, medical aesthetics and gynaecology/urology.

Technical Specifications

CryoPen uses a technology referred to as cryotherapy – ‘cryo’ meaning ‘icy cold’. This involves the use of a high pressure jet of nitrous oxide – N2O, (the source of the cold energy). It is directed at the specific lesion being treated, to within millimetre accuracy.

CryoPen is one of the leading lesion treatment devices available on the market to cosmetic practitioners. The practitioner simply points the CryoPen applicator tip directly at the lesion and applies the cryotherapy. The jet of cold treats any abnormal tissue without interfering with or damaging normal tissue in a matter of seconds.

The CryoPen device is available in various different models – CryoPen B, CryoPen M and CryoPen X. These come with slightly differing applicators, and nitrous oxide cartridge capacity, but all achieve the same treatment goal.

CryoPen B

The B model comes with one applicator head for treating lesions that are between 2 and 6mms wide and a 23.5g cartridge for the nitrous oxide gas, which has 300 seconds of flow. There is a B+ upgrade available which features an additional, longer applicator head (60mm) for treating condyloma (genital or anal warts).

Can High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound Treatment Replace Face Lifts?

0

High-intensity Focused Ultrasound is a new cosmetic treatment for skin tightening that some consider painless replacement for face lifts. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage the production of collagen, which results in firmer skin.

HIFU is most widely known for its use in treating tumors. The first reported use of HIFU for aesthetic use was in 2008.

HIFU was then approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2009 for brow lifts. The device was also cleared by the FDA in 2014 to improve lines and wrinkles of the upper chest and neckline (décolletage).

Several small clinical trials have found HIFU to be safe and effective for facial lifting and refining wrinkles. People were able to see results in a few months after treatment, without the risks associated with surgery.

While the procedure is also used for overall facial rejuvenation, lifting, tightening, and body contouring, these are considered “off-label” uses for HIFU, meaning the FDA has yet to approve HIFU for these purposes.

More evidence will be needed to find out who is best suited for this type of procedure. So far, HIFU has been found to be a promising treatment that could replace face lifts, especially in younger people who don’t want the risks and recovery time associated with surgery.

HIFU won’t work as well for people with more severe cases of sagging skin.

HIFU facial

HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly.

Once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. While this may seem counterintuitive, the damage actually stimulates the cells to produce more collagen — a protein that provides structure to the skin.

The increase in collagen results in tighter, firmer skin with fewer wrinkles. Since the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin’s surface, there’s no damage to the upper layers of the skin and adjacent issue.

Waterpik: How Does It Work? Is It Really Better than Flossing?

A Waterpik is a brand of water flosser or oral irrigator that sprays water to remove food from between your teeth. Water flossers may be a good option for people who have trouble with traditional flossing — the kind that involves threading string-like material between your teeth.

How to Use It

A water flosser doesn’t replace your toothbrush or traditional flossing. You still need to brush your teeth twice a day, but you can use the water flosser before or after.

Fill your water flosser’s reservoir with lukewarm water, then put the flosser tip in your mouth. Lean over the sink to avoid a mess.

Turn it on and then it’s time to clean. Hold the handle at a 90-degree angle to your teeth and spray. Water comes out in steady pulses, cleaning between your teeth.

Start at the back and work your way around your mouth. Focus on the top of your teeth, the gum line, and the spaces between each tooth. Remember to get the back of your teeth, too.

The process should take about 2 minutes. Empty any extra water from the reservoir when you’re done so bacteria doesn’t grow inside.

How It Works

Like regular flossing, water flossing removes food stuck between your teeth and the bacteria lingering there before it hardens into plaque. Your toothbrush can’t get into those small spaces. Water flossing can also reduce gum disease and bleeding.

Is Water Flossing as Good as Dental Floss?

The American Dental Association says water flossers with the ADA Seal of Acceptance can get rid of plaque. That’s the film that turns into tartar and leads to cavities and gum disease. But some studies find water flossers don’t remove plaque as well as traditional floss.

Don’t throw away your traditional dental floss just to try something new. Most dentists still consider regular flossing the best way to clean between your teeth. The old-fashioned stuff lets you scrape up and down the sides of your teeth to remove plaque. If it gets stuck in small spaces, try waxed floss or dental tape. Flossing might be uncomfortable at first if you’re not in the habit, but it should get easier.

3 Face Tools To Experiment With While Still In Social Distance

Face tools such as rollers and vibrating wands do more than aiding in the penetration of your skincare products. They are soothing, can help firm and tone your skin, and can even help contour certain features. The catch is that using face tools requires time and commitment, which may not always be possible when leading a busy lifestyle.

However, the new normal of social isolation and working from home has created new pockets of time during the day for face massage tools to be incorporated. Additionally, your quarantine skin may be in desperate need of some targeted TLC to restore its natural glow and shine.

Trendy Facial Tools To Try

  1. Face rollers

Face rollers come in a variety of styles, including stone rollers (think jade or rose quartz), wooden rollers, studded jaw massagers, and even spiked metallic rollers. A facial roller is intended to massage your lymphatic system and help drain any toxins or blockages in your face. Stone rollers provide additional cooling benefits, and studded rollers are the preferred jaw clenchers of celebrities. While spiked rollers are beneficial for acupressure, they should be used gently to avoid causing damage to the dermis.

  1. Face sculptor

Face sculptors are soothing and cooling metal tool that mimic the actions of a facialist’s knuckles on your skin. It gently kneads your skin for a firmer, toned appearance, effectively giving you an at-home facial lift. Simply roll it vigorously over your face and neck after applying a serum to add plumpness and vitality to tired skin

  1. T-bar wand with a rechargeable battery

While this battery-operated face tool may appear to be quite pricey, it is actually quite affordable. The vibrating T-bar wand can be used to replicate the action of more expensive facial massagers found in salons. It aids in the relaxation of facial muscles, dissolving tension and toning your cheekbones in a way never seen before. Additionally, it is a more efficient method of absorbing facial portions, lotions, and tinctures. This deposits them deeply into your skin.

Are You Aware Of The Intravenous Iron Infusion Therapy?

An iron infusion is an effective treatment for iron deficiency. Iron is needed to make red blood cells or haemoglobin which carries oxygen from the lungs to the muscles, tissues and organs. Low iron levels cause tiredness and affect your ability to function. As the iron stores become depleted, the haemoglobin level drops, and this is called iron deficiency anaemia.

An iron infusion therapy is a method used to treat iron deficiency. The purpose of an iron infusion is to improve the iron deficit by directly replenishing the body’s iron stores.

How is iron deficiency treated?

There are several ways to replace and restore iron stores in the body:

  1. Oral iron in the form of tablets or liquid
  2. Intravenous (IV) infusion.
  3. Intramuscular iron (injection into the muscle). This is painful, causes skin staining, and should be avoided.

Oral iron is not a suitable option for everyone. The intravenous method can be considered in certain circumstances such as:

  • Difficulty taking oral iron due to side effects
  • Unable to absorb oral iron
  • Ongoing blood loss exceeding the ability to restore iron levels with oral iron
  • When there is a need to replace iron stores quickly, for example, late in pregnancy or before a major surgery to avoid a need for blood transfusions
  • Individuals with chronic kidney disease receiving EPO hormonal treatment

What is an iron infusion?

Iron infusion is a treatment where iron is given through a vein and directly enters the bloodstream. It is also called intravenous (IV) iron. A needle or cannula is placed in the arm or the back of the hand, which is then connected to a drip with iron mixed in with a saline solution.

There are different IV iron preparations available; the most commonly used these days is Ferric Carboxymaltose. This is the most recent addition of IV iron, and the main advantage is the significantly shorter duration of infusion of no more than 15 minutes. It is also associated with a lower risk of having an allergic reaction.

Where is an iron infusion administered?

No overnight hospitalisation stay is necessary with iron infusions. Patients are generally in the hospital for no more than a couple of hours. The infusion itself takes around 15 minutes, and after the treatment, there is a period of observation before the patient is discharged.

If You Have Hormonal Acne, Here Are Certain Things You Must Know

0

Wasn’t acne supposed to be an adolescent issue that went away once you hit your twenties? Unfortunately it’s not. Especially if you suffer from hormonal acne which affects many women between the ages of 20 and 40. You most likely have hormonal acne if you have red, inflammatory pimples that leave unsightly scars and refuse to go away. You don’t have to live with hormonal acne as with a little TLC and a few tweaks, you can get rid of it.

Retinoids

Retinol-containing products should be used in your skin care routine. These creams include vitamin A and help to keep skin cells from sticking together. This indicates that these items help to prevent blackheads and clogging of pores. Retinoids, on the other hand, should only be used at night, when sunlight isn’t able to degrade them.

Mild cleansing

Keep grime, oil, and makeup off your face by using a gentle cleanser twice a day. Using a pimple-targeting face cleanser can help.

Handle with care

Apply a topical therapy to decrease inflammation and destroy bacteria after a thorough scrubbing. These gentle topical treatments heal acne faster and leave no scars. Consult your dermatologist, who will recommend the most appropriate treatment for your skin type.

Make dietary changes.

Remove dairy from your diet, especially skimmed dairy, which is thought to contain more acne-causing hormones. Replace cow’s milk with almond milk and boost with probiotics. Foods having a high glycemic index, such as pasta, rice, and white bread, should also be avoided.
