Do You Know About 3 Best Non-Comedogenic Face Oils?

0

Non-comedogenic Face oils are really popular right now. More and more individuals are finding the numerous advantages of including face oil in their skincare routine, and they can’t get enough of it.

1. Argan oil

Argan oil gets a rating of 0 on the non-comedogenic scale. This means that clogging pores and causing outbreaks are quite rare with this oil. Argan oil is a great source of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, in addition to being extremely moisturizing. This is why this oil is one of the best for protecting your skin from injury, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, supplying adequate moisture, and preventing acne.

2. Rosehip oil

Rosehip oil is wonderful non-comedogenic face oil that persons with oily or acne-prone skin may explore. Rosehip oil has an extremely lightweight texture that is readily absorbed into your skin. It feels super nourishing because it is high in linoleic acid, which is a type of omega-6 fatty acid. With a comedogenic grade of only 1, this face oil is also less prone to clog pores and worsen outbreaks.

3. Sunflower oil

Look no further than sunflower oil if you’re looking for excellent carrier oil that won’t clog pores and matches your oily, acne-prone skin. Sunflower oil, plant based oil with a non-comedogenic rating of 0, is high in essential fatty acids, making it extremely moisturizing and nourishing. Furthermore, even if you have sensitive, acne-prone skin, sunflower oil is non-fragrant, plant-based oil that is unlikely to cause skin irritation or allergic responses.

Everything You Should Know About Milia and Milia Removal

WHAT ARE MILIA?

Milia are what occurs when sebum and dead skin cells become trapped in the outer layers of the skin. After a while, they keratinise, meaning that they gather keratin and then harden. Keratin is an essential structural protein of the skin, and looks out for our skin all of the time. Keratin is the culprit of the physical bump. A dermatologist can also help in milia removal if they are irritated or if they bother you cosmetically.

What do Milia look like?

Milia are the type of pearl you don’t necessarily want near your face. They are usually small, round little bumps and they are completely benign. They look a little bit like a regular whitehead but further into the skin and usually are not accompanied by the ring of redness that a whitehead would be. You are likely to get them in multiples, rather than one milium.

Milia lookalikes

  • Acne can be a milia lookalike, especially the mild stage 1 acne that can be found on the forehead, as it is usually small and pearly.
  • Seeing as milia are a type of cyst, it is understandable that they can be confused with very, very small epidermal cysts as they look essentially the same.
  • Syringoma are benign growths that appear very similar to milia as white, yellow or flesh-coloured bumps on the skin. However, syringoma are usually deep into the skin and more difficult to treat. They are permanent and stubbornly recurrent. A medical practitioner will be able to tell you whether your bumps are milia or syringoma.

Can Milia be prevented?

On the outside: Keeping the skin well-exfoliated may stop the build-up of dead skin cells that lead to the formation of milia. Products that include acids are the best for exfoliation, ie. lactic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid. If you get a lot of milia, retinol or retinoids may be a good shout. These vitamin-A-derived ingredients speed up the rate of cell renewal so that dead skin cells are being shed a little bit faster, thus leaving none to become trapped and collect keratin. I’d be inclined to tell people to steer clear of retinols or retinoids unless deemed absolutely necessary, as it can be a relatively harsh treatment.

10 Best Aftercare Tips for Lip Fillers

0

Lip fillers are injections that give the lips a more plump and full appearance. The injections are composed mainly of hyaluronic acid. Sometimes lip Botox is done for a similar effect, but that’s not considered a dermal filler.

The lip filler procedure takes just a few minutes and is minimally invasive. However, the procedure is not permanent and you will need to get future injections to maintain a plump pout.

You might have swelling or tenderness and bruising after the procedure, though the side effects should be minor. Aftercare for lip fillers is manageable. If you’re unsure whether the procedure is right for you, it helps to be aware of what to expect during aftercare.

Aftercare tips

  1. Your lips will likely be swollen after the procedure. You may also notice some redness or bruising at the injections sites, which is normal. Most side effects will be minor, and you will be able to resume most activities once the procedure is done.
  2. Apply ice to your lips afterward using an ice pack or an ice cube covered in cloth (so it doesn’t stick to the lip and cause pain). This will help ease swelling, itching, bruising, and any other pain.
  3. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours after you get lip or any other dermal fillers. Elevated blood pressure and heart rate from exercise may make swelling or bruising worse. You can take Arnica for bruising if your doctor approves. It’s fine to engage in light activity like walking.
  4. Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water will help your body heal.
  5. Eat plenty of hydrating fruits and vegetables and try to avoid excess sodium, which may worsen swelling.
  6. Avoid high temperatures like steam rooms, saunas, or heated exercise classes for 48 hours after treatment. High heat can make swelling more pronounced.
  7. Ask your doctor which painkillers are OK to take in the days after your treatment. Normally Tylenol will be fine, but not blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen.
  8. If you’re getting lip fillers for a specific event, make sure to leave plenty of time in between the procedure and the event to allow your lips to properly recover.
  9. Try to sleep with your head elevated on pillows to reduce swelling. Do not sleep on your face.
  10. Avoid makeup on your lips for up to 24 hours after.

Is the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum Worth Your While?

0

It’s probably no secret that I’m a fan of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. I know it’s not everyone’s favourite, and I often get people telling me they don’t understand why I like it, or that it is overpriced.

But it’s a product that’s consistently worked for me, and it’s one that I find pleasure in using. So really, it should just be that – different products work for different people!

Anyway, the new version of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum is now called Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex, and I was kindly gifted a bottle a long while ago to have a go.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex serum

In gist, it’s a multi-use ‘anti-aging’ serum product. I call it a multi-use serum, because it doesn’t focus on just one or two key ingredients e.g. retinol or niacinamide, two keywords in today’s serum world. Instead, it’s one that sort of does everything in one bottle.

Just like the previous version, the ANR Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex is one that works while you sleep. It increases your skin’s natural ability for self-repair while you sleep, promoting skin’s natural renewal of new cells and production of collagen. Packed with Hyaluronic Acid, it attracts and locks in moisture in skin for, they say, up to 72 hours.

Their key ingredients are hyaluronic acid, which boosts skin hydration; Bifida ferment lysate, which contains probiotics for skin to strengthen skin immunity and protecting it against environmental aggressors; and peptides in the form of tripeptide-32, to boost collagen production.

A full dropper of goodness

I use a full dropper each time. It’s what is recommended, and that’s how I’ve been using it from Day 1. Using a few drops of product, as many are wont to do due to the price, is rather counter-intuitive. So, be generous with use.

The texture, smell and absorbency feels just like the previous iteration. It is a light, opaque, golden liquid that sinks right into skin.

Estee Lauder even suggests that you apply it on damp skin, by first spritzing your skin with a facial mist. I’m not surprised this is recommended, due to the high content of hyaluronic acid in the serum.

As I’ve previously shared, hyaluronic acid needs moisture to grab on to, to be effective, so applying it on damp skin activates it better.

LPG Endermologie : Slimming and Re-Shaping

0

LPG Endermologie treatment is for those who want to contour their bodies without any surgery and effectively slim down. It is a non-invasive and pain-free procedure;  that melts the fat deposits in one’s body and breaks the cellulite.

The Science Behind Endermologie Treatment

An FDA-approved and patented approach, LPG endermologie focuses on cellular stimulation. This is done by 100% natural and effective massage work that offers you deep tissue mobilization. There are several treatments under this category, including LPG body treatment and LPG face treatment.

Nearly 145 studies have backed up the efficiency and authenticity of this treatment including scientific experiments and studies. Some of these conclude that the treatment provides:

  • Up to 70% increase in the rate of release of fat after the treatment.
  • Around 23% boost in maximizing the firmness of the skin and the muscles.
  • 240% rise in the activation of the production of collagen.
  • Almost 40% upsurge in the synthesis of natural elastin.

This is a non-invasive treatment in which rollers are used to target specific areas in a person’s body where they want the fat released. With a massage, the fat cells in one’s body are compressed, which boosts up the release of the fat. This process of fat release is called – lipolysis

The treatment focuses on the face and body tissues; it primarily concentrates on muscles, skin, lymphatic, and blood circulation.

This treatment also accelerates the creation of elastin and collagen which are highly essential for smoothing and reducing the wrinkles on your skin.

Treatment Duration

The LPG endermologie treatment is a multi-session treatment, and a patient can see results typically after 3-4 sittings. These results can vary from one person to another, based on their body type and conditions.

To have a lasting result and effect, you are advised to book 12-15 sessions. A typical session may take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes depending on the area of the body.

The most significant treatment period is the first month; this is when the fibroblast process is triggered at the skin level. By including a well-balanced diet and a routine workout session in this treatment schedule, you can experience the effects and results much faster.

Profhilo – Rebuild Collagen, Reduce Fine Lines & Wrinkles

0

Profhilo is a unique skin remodeling treatment that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin through the slow release of Hyaluronic Acid (HA).

Unlike other anti-ageing injectables that use fillers to add volume and stretch out the skin, Profhilo uses Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body to hydrate, firm and actually rebuild new, younger-looking skin cells.

This works on reversing the signs of ageing at a cellular level, stimulating new collagen and elastin cells, significantly improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and giving you firmer, more youthful skin on your face.

With dermal fillers, the results tend to be very localized because the gel only stays in the area in which it has been injected. However Hyaluronic Acid is different. Once injected it disperses evenly throughout the skin, so the effects are visible throughout your whole face, giving a much more even anti-ageing result.

What Problems Can Profhilo Help With?

Profhilo is an excellent anti-ageing treatment, clinically proven to help with a wide range of ageing symptoms. It acts as a hydrator rather than a traditional dermal filler, and is therefore fantastic for those with tired, dull and ageing skin, as it provides overall more plump and luminous skin.

Examples of some of the signs of ageing that Profhilo can be used for include:

  • Wrinkles such as crows feet, smoker’s lines, smile lines and frown lines.
  • Saggy, loose skin – on your face, decolletage, neck, arms or hands.
  • Dull, dehydrated looking skin.
  • Sunken skin that needs more volume.

How Profhilo Works

As you age your body starts to produce less collagen and elastin – the cells that give your skin its structure and firmness. When these cells start to reduce, your skin can no longer hold its appearance and the first signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles, start to appear.

Profhilo works right at the root cause of the problem – stimulating collagen and elastin production and increasing the elasticity of your skin.

This Post-Shower Body Care Routine Is Perfect For Sensitive Skin

0

If you want to avoid the annoyances associated with not caring for your body after showering, consider this your guide to developing an effective post-shower body care routine for sensitive skin

  1. Keep it quick

While a long shower may feel wonderful, spending too much time in it can strip your skin of its natural oils and even cause inflammation, itchiness, and irritation. Thank you, but no.

  1. Avoid showering in extremely hot water.

In terms of irritation and inflammation, if you have sensitive skin, avoid burning hot water. Additionally, hot water depletes the skin’s natural oils, and while we’re not advocating for showering in ice-cold water, why not cool it down a bit? We’ve heard that lukewarm water is extremely effective.

  1. Gently pat your skin dry.

If you’re too rough on drying your skin, you risk irritating your skin and causing inflammation; therefore, whenever you pat yourself dry, keep in mind that gentle motions are far more beneficial. Additionally, do not abandon the towel entirely! Drying the skin with the air causes the body to lose any moisture it has gained and may further dehydrate your skin. To be safe, gently dab and blot your skin until it is completely dry, then immediately apply your moisturizer.

  1. Use a deodorant that is alcohol-free

No post-shower body care routine is complete without a quick application of deodorant.
