A rash is any area of irritated or swollen skin on your body. Rashes are often itchy and painful and can appear differently on different skin tones. Depending on the cause of the rash, various treatments can be applied to treat this condition.
There are many types of skin rashes. They usually result from skin inflammation; the most common ones are eczema, granuloma annulare, lichen planus, and pityriasis rosea.
The treatments vary according to the type of skin rash, but moisturizers that are fragrance-free and contain ingredients such as ceramides, glycerin, and mineral oil are often recommended.
The first thing to do in case of inflammation is to seek a reliable dermatologist to help you identify your skin rash type and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Depending on the type of rash, it could develop into more severe conditions, so medical advice is necessary.
In case of a rash caused by sunburn, also called sun rash, is a type of photodermatosis where exposure to sunlight causes a reaction on your skin. It looks red and is itchy and should not be confused with a sun allergy.
At home, cold compresses or a cool bath can provide itch relief. Most of the time, it can resolve without treatment in a few days. However, some medicines are necessary depending on the specific skin rash and if there’s a severe sunburn.
In conclusion, skin rash is a common condition that could become dangerous if not properly treated. More specifically, some ointments could help heal faster in case of sunburn, but if that doesn’t work, a doctor should be consulted.
