Sponges are very popular tools to be used during makeup or baths but they can also be handy while washing the face. They can come in different formats and materials and have many benefits that are often overlooked, especially among the new and innovative cleansing electronic devices.
They are an excellent alternative to do a deep cleansing, as the microfibers of the facial sponge can bring dirt, makeup residue, and bacteria to the skin’s surface to be washed away. In this process, it is essential to properly clean, squeeze out the sponges’ excess water, and let them air dry to avoid contamination. This should be done in gentle round movements once a week.
It is also possible to do gentle exfoliation with the sponges to remove the dead cells so soft and smooth skin can be revealed. This process can be done up to twice a week, and the circular motions can also stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
Another good thing about facial sponges is that any skin type can use them. Just pair them with the appropriate cleansing product. In case of acne or other lesions, this should be done with caution not to damage the skin.
In conclusion, facial sponges are a good and affordable alternative to wash the face and obtain a beautiful complexion. Keep in mind that it is indicated to change the sponge once every month for sanitary reasons, which should be fine as they usually come in packs.
