What’s the Difference Between Facelift and Thread Lift?

The facelift has been one of the most popular, if not the most popular cosmetic surgery for many generations. However, alternative procedures are discovered throughout the years. Some people tend to choose these alternative treatments because they are non-invasive compare to it . One of these is the treatment called a Thread lift. In this article, we’re going to differentiate both treatments.

Facelift

A facelift tightens the facial muscles, resulting in rejuvenation of the lower half of the face. The loose skin in the neck is also lifted in the process. If you have signs of aging around the mouth and jawline, a Facelift is the best for you. The result is long-lasting, ranging from few years to decades. However, Facelift only rejuvenates the lower half of the face, so if you want to treat your whole face, you need to undergo other procedures like eyelid surgery. One disadvantage of this treatment is its long recovery time which takes around two weeks.

Thread Lift

Thread Lift

Thread lift’s benefits are somehow similar to that of the Facelift. This treatment stimulates the production of collagen, which lifts the skin. Commonly used threads are Polydioxanone (PDO). The doctor inserts the thread in the skin where you want to be rejuvenated, resulting in the reduction of wrinkles. The ultimate result is smoother and younger skin. Additionally, you’ll have an enhanced lip line and improved deep creases. Compared with Facelift, thread lift lasts for a shorter period which is usually 1-2 years.
