We’ve got something new for you to try: puppy dog eyeliner! Whereas cat-eye liner swoops upward and outward at the corners of the eyes, puppy liner descends. It’s unique, it’s seductive, and once you’ve mastered the steps, it’s simple to execute!
DEFINE THE EYELID CREASE IN
STEP 1
Begin by infusing the eye with warmth and dimension using a neutral eye shadow shade. This step is completely optional!
STEP 2: LINE UP THE LASHES
Line the upper lash line with black pencil eyeliner from the center of the eye out to the corners, bringing the line DOWN at the corners. Tip: As you do this, raise your brows to keep the lid taut for a smooth line.
STEP 3: DOWNWARDLY EXTEND THE LINER
Follow the line downward and create a point with a sharp appearance. Thicken and exaggerate the line, using the eyeliner pencil to fill in any color gaps.
STEP 4: OUTLINE THE INTERNAL CORNERS OF THE EYES
Now, define the inner corners of the eyes by tracing a thin line of liquid eyeliner from the inner to the outer corners, connecting it to the gel liner.
STEP 5: DRAW A LINE DOWN THE LOWER LASH LINE
Line only the outer half of the lower lash line with your pencil eyeliner, drawing out to connect to the top liner. Maintain a bare inner half of the lower lash line. Then, using an eye shadow brush, soften the lower liner by smoking it out. Additionally, add a bit of black liner to your waterline!
STEP SIX: OPEN UP THE EYES
Incorporate light and shimmer along the inner lower lash line for a truly open appearance.
STEP 7: INTRODUCE MASCARA
To the top lashes and the outer half of the lower lashes, apply lengthening mascara.
STEP 8: INCREASE THE BRIGHTNESS
Add a pop of shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes as a finishing touch.
