A sunscreen is an investment we make for our skin and overall health. While time spent outdoors exposes the skin to the vagaries of UVA and UVB rays, even 15 minutes of exposure to sun rays through windows can have an effect on the skin. That’s why we need extra protection. We need sunscreen. But how can we choose the perfect product suitable to our own skin type?
Sunscreen for skin that is prone to acne
If you have this type of skin, be extremely cautious while selecting sunscreen, as the improper one can clog your pores. So, it is critical to select an oil-free formula to avoid this issue. One might opt for a lotion, gel, or spray solution that is non-greasy and fragrance-free. Choose an ingredient that is less prone to irritate the skin in a lightweight, water-based formulation.
Sensitive skin sunscreen
Because this skin type is more sensitive to strong chemicals, it is best to stick to softer sunscreens such as physical sunscreens containing zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are less likely to trigger a reaction. Avoid sunscreens containing parabens or oxybenzone, as these ingredients can cause skin rashes and irritation in those with sensitive skin.
Sunscreen for people with dry skin
If you have dry skin, it is vital to choose a sunscreen that provides adequate moisture to your skin. Any sunscreen that contains moisturizing compounds such as ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or honey for hydrating and maintaining supple, soft skin.
Sunscreen for people with greasy skin
Oily skin types should use a lightweight, mattifying solution that absorbs excess oil during the day.
