Bay Alarm Medical 4G LTE GPS Help Button

The Bay Alarm Mobile GPS Help Button is a wearable medical alert button that goes where you go. It’s small, waterproof, and delivers clear two-way audio, but it lacks urgent care services.

  • PROS

    • Good battery life
    • Clean two-way audio
    • Optional caregiver tracking mobile app
  • CONS

    • Pricey
    • Lacks optional medical advice and check-in services

The 4G LTE GPS Help Button  is Bay Alarm Medical’s latest portable medical alert product. Like its predecessor, the Mobile GPS Help Button, it’s a waterproof device that will put you in touch with a live emergency response agent with the touch of a button. It lasts up to four days between charges and offers a useful caregiver tracking app, but you’ll get faster response times and urgent care features with our Editors’ Choice, the Great Call Lively Mobile Plus.

Under the hood are a 4G LTE cellular radio, a GPS radio, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery rated to last up to four days between charges. That’s on par with what you can expect from the LifeStation Premium Mobile and the Great Call Lively Mobile Plus, but not nearly as long as the LifeFone At-Home and On-the-Go GPS Voice-in-Necklace, which can last up to 30 days between charges. As with the earlier Bay Alarm Mobile GPS Help Button, this device uses AT&T’s cellular service.

The agent can pinpoint your exact location using cellular and GPS tracking, and dispatch a first responder if necessary. The Preferred Protection Plan goes for $29.95 per month and gives you the same 24/7 emergency access as the Standard plan, but also includes access to Bay Alarm’s Caregiver Tracking mobile app for Android and iOS devices. The app lets caregivers and family track your current whereabouts using the device’s GPS radio and view your three-day and seven-day activity history. The $39.95 per month Premium Protection Plan gives you everything from the Preferred plan and includes fall detection and free shipping.

All plans come with the Vial of Life, a packet that contains all of your medical information, such as medications and allergies for emergency personnel reference, in the event of an emergency. They also come with an Account Manager app that lets you update addresses, review billing data, and check your account status.

That said, Bay Alarm doesn’t offer the urgent care features that you get with the Great Call Lively Mobile Plus, which give you access to doctors and nurses for medical advice and prescription refills.
