3 Ingredients That You Should Never Use Near the Eye Area

Our eyelid skin is extremely delicate and sensitive. As a result, it’s critical to be cautious about the ingredients you apply to the eye area. Applying harsh ingredients to your eyes can irritate them and even result in unpleasant infections. But before we begin, it’s critical to understand what the eye area actually is. The eye area is comprised of the upper eyelid and the surrounding area of the lower eye. Because the skin around the eye is extremely delicate and the first to show signs of aging, it must be treated with care.

1. Parabens

Using paraben-containing products near the eye area can cause inflammation, resulting in swelling, redness, itchiness, and in some cases, serious eye infection.

2. Acne facial cleanser

If you’re using an acne face wash, avoid the eye area, as acne does not occur around the eyes. Secondly, if you are using an anti-acne gel that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, avoid applying it near your eyes.

3. Retinol

Retinol is a widely used anti-aging ingredient that is found in a variety of anti-aging products. However, due to its potency, it may cause skin sensitization and extreme dryness in some. To begin, because our eye area is extremely delicate, it is best to use the mildest form of retinol. Maintain a safe distance from the lash line. Utilize it in the orbital region to achieve remarkable results.
